2020 Regional Scientific Meeting

Mark 6-8 March 2020 in your diary for the WA/SA/NT Regional Scientific Meeting, to be held at The Vines Resort in the picturesque Swan Valley. The meeting will feature guest speakers, opportunities to present research and workshops. It includes the popular Diplomates Day, which in previous years has been CPD-approved by the RACGP (Category 1) and ACRRM, as well as for the Rural Procedural Grants Program.

Nominate for the 2020 RSM Organising Committee

We are looking for a Diplomate to join our Regional Scientific Meeting organising committee. The Diplomate representative leads the programming of Diplomates Day, and ensures the meeting is relevant to Diplomates. This position can be job-shared. All meetings are run via videoconference to enable members from across WA to participate.

Time commitment: 1 evening meeting per month, becoming fortnightly closer to the event.

Introducing your new WA Regional Committee Representative

Hi fellow Diplomates, my name is Stuart Prosser and I have taken over from Julia Marcello* as the Diplomate representative on the RANZCOG WA regional committee. I am currently a GP obstetrician at Bentley Health Service and at One for Women. I have over 15 years of experience as a GP obstetrician and am committed to the continuation of GP obstetrics.

I  would love to hear from any of my fellow Diplomates and look forward to continuing to support GP obstetrics.

*WA GP obstetrician Dr Julia Marcello is a member of the College’s Diplomates Committee.

Diplomate Board Representation

In March, the RANZCOG Board welcomed Dr Judith Gardiner, Chair of the Diplomates Committee as an observer on the RANZCOG Board. Changes to the RANZCOG Constitution will be proposed in November 2019 to ensure representation of Diplomates, an essential part of the College’s membership and major contributors to the women’s health workforce.
